United Way of Lake County to Host Town Talk Conversations

United Way of Lake County to Host Fall 2018 Town Talk Conversations

Mentor, OH (SEPTEMBER 26, 2018) –United Way of Lake County (UWLC) is hosting a series of Town Talk conversations open to residents of Lake County. The forums provide the opportunity for neighbors to participate in an open, interactive discussion about their vision of the community they want to live in.

Participating residents will be asked to share their aspirations, concerns and how they want to see their community move forward.

According to Jennifer McCarty, President & CEO of UWLC, “The purpose of Town Talk is to ensure that as we move forward in our mission of measurably improving the lives of Lake County residents, that our focus is on the areas our members of the community and donors feel most strongly about.”

Community Impact volunteers determine which programs UWLC funds. “The feedback we receive from Town Talk will add an additional measure to ensure the needs of our community are fully uncovered,” said McCarty.

Town Talk is based on the work of the Harwood Institute. The conversations will last 90-minutes and are "kitchen-table" like discussions where groups of approximately 12 participants share their opinions about the Lake County community they live in.

There is no fee to attend. The format of each meeting will be identical. Residents of Lake County may attend any one of three Town Talk dates with an advance RSVP. All Town Talk conversations will take place from 5 pm – 6:30 pm on the dates and locations listed below:
