Component Repair Technologies Continues Tradition of Giving Through Support of United Way of Lake County and Feed Lake County

Company donates more than 3 tons of food and commits $150,000 over three years to help local families facing hunger and hardship.

Mentor, OH (June 2, 2026) –  United Way of Lake County (UWLC) announced today that Component Repair Technologies (CRT) and its employees have surpassed $1.27 million in lifetime contributions to support local families and community programs.

For more than two decades, Component Repair Technologies (CRT) and its employees have demonstrated what it means to invest in the community they call home. Through ongoing financial support, employee workplace giving, volunteerism, and a longstanding tradition of donating food to United Way of Lake County's hunger-relief efforts year after year, CRT and its employees have contributed more than $1.27 million to UWLC since 2004, helping strengthen programs and services that improve lives throughout the county. And this does not even include the thousands of dollars in food they and their employees have donated year after year.

That tradition of giving continues in 2026. CRT employees donated over 3 tons of food today – enough to provide 5,025 meals - through the company's annual food drive in support of UWLC’s Feed Lake County program. UWLC will distribute the food to the 40 food pantries it serves.

Although Feed Lake County's annual campaign launches each spring, the organization welcomes food donations throughout the year to support its food pantry. The pantry supplies local food assistance programs and pantries with help restocking their shelves to serve residents facing food insecurity.

Nearly one-third of Lake County residents struggle to afford basic needs such as food, housing, healthcare, and more.

"CRT is an inspiration when it comes to giving back to the community," said Dione DeMitro, President & CEO of United Way of Lake County. "For decades, the company and its employees have demonstrated a commitment to helping their neighbors through financial support, workplace giving, and initiatives like Feed Lake County. Their generosity has touched countless lives, and their leadership serves as a powerful example of how businesses can make a lasting difference in the communities where they live and work," said UWLC President & CEO Dione DeMitro.

In addition to its food drive donation, CRT has committed to providing UWLC with $50,000 annually over the next three years beginning in 2026 to support the organization's mission and community impact initiatives.

"Supporting the communities where our employees live and work has always been a core value at CRT," said Richard Mears, President of CRT. "We believe businesses have a responsibility to give back, and we hope our continued support encourages others to step up and make a difference as well."

CRT has been a faithful supporter of Feed Lake County for many years, demonstrating its commitment to addressing local hunger while investing in the long-term well-being of the community. Beyond its financial support and food donations, the company continues to encourage employee engagement and community involvement.

CRT is a leading aerospace maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) company specializing in the repair and restoration of turbine engine components. Following its acquisition by Safran Aircraft Engines in 2025, the company is positioned for continued growth and investment throughout Northeast Ohio.

Employing nearly 500 individuals, CRT expects to expand its capabilities and workforce in the coming years while maintaining its commitment to strengthening the communities it serves.

“Being part of Safran Aircraft Engines provides CRT with tremendous opportunity for the future,” said Mears. “As we continue to expand, we expect to create more jobs, strengthen our business, and contribute even more to the region over the next several years.”
