United Way of Lake County Announces the Ten (10) Finalists Who Have a Chance to Win a 2018 Toyota Corolla or $5,000 Cash

Winner to be determined February 2 during ceremony at Classic Toyota

Mentor, OH (January 26, 2018) –  United Way of Lake County (UWLC) kicked off their 2017 Community Giving Campaign on September 7, 2017 with the introduction of a 2018 Toyota Corolla LE from Classic Toyota in Mentor.

The car was introduced by UWLC 2017 campaign chair Mark Sutherland, president of The Lubrizol Foundation and corporate vice president of global communications and public affairs for The Lubrizol Corporation, as way of thanking those who donate during the UWLC 2017 giving campaign with what the organization referred to as its “Drive to Impact” program. The program, which ran through January 25, 2018, gave donors the opportunity to win their choice of a 2018 Toyota Corolla LE for 2-years (all taxes and fees included) or $5,000 cash.

According to Jean Sency, Vice President of Resource Development, “New donors were asked to donate a minimum of $52, which is one dollar per week, to receive a contest entry, and current donors were asked to increase donations made the previous year by this same amount to receive a contest entry.”

”The contest is our way of thanking donors and showing our appreciation for their support of the work we do to help Lake County’s most vulnerable residents,” said Sutherland.

Finalists will be invited to attend a ceremony next Friday, February 2, 2018 at 12 noon at Classic Toyota in Mentor where the winner will be determined. All finalists will receive a key and the finalist with the key that starts the ignition of the car will be announced the winner. The winner will then have their choice of a 2-year lease on the 2018 Toyota Corolla with all taxes and fees paid or $5,000 cash.

The ten finalists were randomly selected this morning at United Way of Lake County’s Mentor office by Sutherland during a live Facebook broadcast which can be seen at www.facebook.com/UnitedWayofLakeCounty. There were a total of 2,283 contest tickets.

The finalists are Mike Anderson of Eye Lighting International, Lillia Blevins of Eye Lighting International, Laurene Bucci, Christine Dorazio of The Lubrizol Corporation, Michael Goodell of Avery Dennison, Diana Hausrath of Zito Insurance Agency, Ann O’Leary of Concord Biosciences, Frank McKeon of the City of Painesville, Lindsay Pschirer of Lake Metroparks, and Yvonne Delgado Thomas of the Fine Arts Association.

“This is such an exciting time for us and we’re happy for all of the finalists,” said President and CEO of United Way of Lake County, Jennifer McCarty. “We look forward to next Friday and are grateful to Classic Toyota for hosting the giveaway ceremony and all they’ve done to support us.”
